Grand Theft Auto 4 not responsible for high sales of PS3 and XBOX360

Two analyst firms revealed that GTA4 did not have any effect on the sales of PS3 and XBOX 360.
We know that GTA 4 had record breaking sales due to its popularity but it didn not have much effect on the sales of PS3 and XBOX360 in the month of May. According to the two separate analyst firms named Lazard Capital Markets and Wedbush Morgan Securities-

“We do not believe the recent release of GTA IV has generated meaningful incremental demand for the Xbox 360 or PS3 platforms,” said by ‘Colin Sebastian’ of Lazard Capital Markets.

“Next generation console unit sales are running well ahead of the level in the analogous period of 2003 (when console prices averaged under USD 200), implying room for significant sales growth as price cuts are implemented,” explained by Pachter .

The news was not well for Sony Executives who always believed that ‘Metal Gear Solid 4′ was a killer application for PS3 . (Killer Application- Which tends to increase the sales of console.)

Make your Windows XP look like MAC OS X

Most of the Windows XP users are not satisfied by the design of the windows and are struggling to find the good software to make it look cool and attractive. I will give you a way to make your Windows XP look like Mac OS X.

Mac OS X lacks behind Windows XP in performance and security but when it comes to looks and design Mac OS X looks more cool and attractive then the simple Windows XP design. It’s the time to make your XP look more beautiful then before.

  • Download StyleXP and install it on your PC. StyleXp is a windows theme enhancement software and is available cheap. I would suggest this software as it utilizes very less system resources and can work on PC’s with less specifications. Select the panther theme which looks like the theme Mac OS X .
  • Download ObjectDock which is available free of cost and install it on your PC. It allows you to organize your shortcuts, programs and running tasks into an attractive and fun animated Dock like that of Mac OS X. Configure your dock (color, theme, size, position etc.) as per your requirements.

After all setting re-boot your PC and check out if startup is enabled. If the programs start automatically it means everything was fine and your PC looks more cool and attractive. Here’s how my dock looks: (Click the Image for Full Size)

No PS3 mod-chip, no PS3 pirated and copied games yet

All the games for PS2, PS1 and PSP were duplicated by various method used by the hackers. A chip was designed which was capable of playing copied DVD games on PS2, avalable for price less then a single original PS2 DVD. When PS2 was released in the market the hardware was hacked within a month from it’s release.

As per the latest news, Sony’s PlayStation 3 was released in November in 2006 and yet there is no use of pirated PS3 games (which are available for download via torrents). The main reason behind this is that it has not yet been modded or hacked to support the pirated or duplicated games (As Sony has stepped on step furthor in stopping piracy). The price of PS3 was quite high and a person could even buy a light gaming PC in that price. If a person could afford to buy a PS3 then it would not have been tough to buy its games.

It is a very complex console and uses Blu-Ray media for games. The Blu-ray writers are very expensive due to that reason no body has yet tried to mod or hack the PS3. Sony is trying it’s best to prevent piracy and has somewhat succeeded in it. As per me, you would not see pirated version of PS3 until it is hacked or modded by some engineer. You will have to wait for the fall of price of Blu-Ray Writers so that someone takes the initiative copying the games and designing a modcip to pay them. My Suggestion- I would highly recommend you stick with the official PS3 otherwise it will void the warranty of Sony PS3 and if anything oges wrong it would be a thrash!

Getting My self a Coolermaster Aquagate Max with Hydra 8800

Coolermaster Aquagate Max Coolermaster Hydra 8800

It’s very hot here in India and temperatures are going above 40c. So, I felt like making my PC feel cool and make it’s life long. As I am a gamer so I need some hardcore stuff in my PC. I’ve installed a Nvidia 8800GTX from MSI and a Intel Core 2 Quad CPU.

Currently my CPU is running hot at 50c average idle with the ambient temperature of approximately 30c. When it comes to gaming the CPU temperature goes to 55c+ and GPU (Graphics Card) is how at 90c. So there was a need for some better cooling solution.

After some reserch I came to a concludion to buy CoolerMaster Aquagate Max with CoolerMaster Hydra8800. I have Cosmos 1000 case I it will fit inside well. I’ve already ordered all the stuff and will post pictures and my personal review as soon as I will get it. So wait for my review of one of the worlds Best Liqued Cooling System of Hardcore Gamers.

Did you saw the Google!’s new favicon?

If you have been surfing online from last few days you must have visited Google, and perhaps, should have noticed the new Google favicon. If you are not able to see it please wait for the website to load properly.
If you bookmark any of the Google! pages you would see a new and attractive ‘g’ with the bookmark. This is the new approved Favicon. Google has updated its favicon after 8.5 years. When we look at the icon it seems easy to design but as per Google officials it took more time and plenty of work to design it. As per Google Officials-

The design process we went through was rigorous and interesting, so we thought we would share more of it here. We tried in total more than 300 permutations. It was much harder than we thought at first. We wanted something distinctive and noticeable, so we aimed toward transparency or semi-transparency, so the image would have a more distinctive noticeable shape than just a block,” Marissa Mayer, VP Search Products & User Experience, and Micheal Lopez, Web Designer, explained the design process of the new favicon.
We wanted something that embraced the colorfulness of the logo, yet wouldn’t date itself. Since we don’t really have a symbol that means Google, we felt it best to work with the logo and letters within it.

There is a new question now. Why did google update the Favicon?
According to Google the main reason behind the implementation of the new favicon was expansion of google search. Google Search is now available on multiple web platforms. They said

The reason is that we wanted to develop a set of icons that would scale better to some new platforms like the iPhone and other mobile devices

Take a look at the new favicon-

NFORCE 780a SLI Motherboard Comparison

A month back nVidia shocked the market by releasing a top-model chipset which has integrated graphics. NVidia knew it well that no self-respecting enthusiast will actually rely on integrated 3D graphic engines, but still that wasn’t the point of its 780a SLI.

Instead, the announced that the primary use of the graphics system was to drop into a low power mode when few 3D calculations were required, such as while surfing the internet, working with documents and other common stuff.

Nforce 780a SLI Diagram
Here’s the TomsHardware’s Conclusion

NVidia has finally brought a modern chipset to the Socket AM2+ market, while surprising many buyers with the inclusion of onboard graphics in an “enthusiast” part. It’s certainly competitive with AMD’s top-rated 790FX, and it opens buyers to several advanced graphics options. While it lacks clear leadership in most areas, support for 3-way and Hybrid SLI are key benefits.

We did find clear performance leadership in one of the tested models, but the “winner” lacked any onboard video connector for the chipset’s HybridPower mode and wouldn’t even boot with four memory modules installed. On the other hand the second-place finisher, though well balanced, was far from a record -setting performer.

By now you’re wondering why we still haven’t actually tested HybridPower. The answer is, we did. It didn’t work on our MSI motherboard, but will probably be fixed with BIOS and driver updates. It was supposed to have worked with the Asus motherboard we used last week, but that sample didn’t survive long enough to be included in this week’s comparison.

It’s a tough decision for AMD fans requiring an SLI solution. Without even considering the possibility of HybridPower on the second-place performer, we’d probably choose it for its better memory support and lower power consumption. Yet those who already own a good motherboard won’t find any compelling reasons to upgrade.

Most disturbing of this recent launch is that not one, but three out of five nForce 780a SLI motherboards we received died before we could complete testing We can’t be sure how long any particular model will last, so we’d suggest similarly concerned buyers at least wait a few weeks for manufacturers to work all the bugs out. But the wait is lost on us: Since we don’t require SLI on most of our Socket AM2+ systems, we’re more likely to stick with the now-mature 790FX from AMD.

I’ll suggest you to go through full review (Click Here for Full Review) and leave your comments on this.

My Final Comments- I think when it comes to a hardcore gamer Nvidia has failed to make something new and improved. It’s better to stick with your 790FX or whichever you own before considering an upgrade.
